Inauguration Of Bahrain Fountain

Invent Water Features, HQ near Manchester, United Kingdom are pleased to announce the inauguration this month of what is believed to be the highest sea water floating jet fountain in The World.

Located adjacent to the new Library and Grand Mosque in Juffair, Bahrain, the spectacular fountain is a culmination of 18 months design, testing and construction activities undertaken by specialist firm Invent in association with the Special Projects Department of The Ministry of Works and Housing, Bahrain.

Invent working in close partnership with our partners OASE in Germany have developed the Worlds most sophisticated high jet nozzle technology with particular reference for marine and high saline conditions.

The project concept and hydrodynamic design and nozzle testing phase took 6 months with a further 9 months construction period in dry dock in Hull, UK. The delivery, installation of electrical sub station, cables, mooring system and final commissioning took a further 3 months under the supervision of Invent engineers with the assistance of local construction companies.

The fountains main jet, secondary effect nozzles, rectification chamber, pumping, pipework, controls and instrumentation are all housed aboard a specifically design marine barge. The steel construction measures around 11metres x 11metres and is 4 meter deep, with a draft of 3 meters under service conditions. The barge is fully fitted with warning attenuation and marine lighting for safety.

Two 0.5 megawatt centrifugal pumps propel sea water from the main jet, in excess of 123 meters, whilst a further centrifugal pump also delivers water to 40 adjustable secondary nozzles which compliment the display. At night the fountain provides a wonderful scenic diversion to the people and tourists of the area and beyond, being fully illuminated with 12 white onboard floodlights.

Opened in February 2006 at a ceremony hosted by Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the fountain will be a lasting monument and future touristic attraction for Bahrain.

Invent Switch On Worlds Highest Open Sea Fountain

Invent Water Features, HQ in Manchester, United Kingdom are pleased to announce the inauguration earlier this month of what is believed to be the highest open sea, marine jet fountain in The World and highest fountain of any kind in Central Asia.

Located adjacent the World famous Oyster Rocks, off Clifton Beach, Karachi, the spectacular fountain is a culmination of 12 months design, testing and construction activities undertaken by specialist firm Invent and the engineers and management of Karachi Port Trust.

Invent working in close partnership with our partners OASE in Germany have developed the Worlds most sophisticated high jet nozzle technology with particular reference for marine and high saline conditions.

The project concept and hydrodynamic design and nozzle testing phase took 6 months with a further 6 months construction and commissioning undertaken under the supervision of Invent engineers with the assistance of local construction companies.

The fountain propels sea water in excess of 180 meters utilising the latest diesel generated pumping equipment. At night the fountain provides a wonderful scenic diversion to the people and tourists of the Clifton Beach area and beyond, being fully illuminated with 18 white floodlights.

The plant room houses all pumps, diesel generators, pipe-work, intake systems, valves and control systems necessary for local and remote operation of the fountain.

The concrete civil structure was built at sea using piling methods into the sea bed.

Opened in January by President Pervez Musharaf and Vice Admiral Hyatt of Karachi Port Trust, the fountain will be a lasting monument and a forerunner for anticipated touristic expansion plans for Karachi and in particular the area of Clifton Beach.
